Centering on Dexter Morgan, a bloodstain pattern analyst-cum- serial killer, the popular American crime based Drama, Dexter, makes its debut on October 1, 2006 on the Showtime Network. The third season of Dexter comes to an end on December 14, 2008 and the series would return with fourth season on September 27, 2009. 

The storyline of Dexter is taken from novels penned by Jeff Lindsay namely Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter and Dexter in the Dark. The central character, Dexter, works with Miami Metro Police Department as a bloodstain pattern analyst during the day. As night takes its form, Dexter’s another profession starts which only a very few people are aware of. Viewers see him digging out the truths behind mysteries during the day and murdering the culprits during the night. Making him out of the crowd of ordinary killers are the rules and standards, which Dexter follows. His primary targets as a monstrous serial killer are the wrongdoers who manage to escape, somehow, the justice system. In order to carry out the plot requirements, various other characters such as Debra, Dexter’s sister; Rita, Dexter’s girlfriend make appearances.
