Launched by MGM’s Stargate Franchise, Stargate Atlantis is a very well liked Canadian American military science fiction television series.   It’s a spin-off of Stargate SG-1 and currently running with the fifth season.  The first three seasons of the show were aired on Sci Fi and The Movie Network and it finally moved to Sci Fi for the last two seasons.

The storyline of the movie revolves around John Sheppard and his military team and it focuses on their adventures as they travel to other planets along with other teams. Stargate is the name of the device, which they use to travel and it’s housed on the planet named Lantea in city of Atlantis.  Around thousands of years ago, one of the most advanced Stargate Universe races, named the Ancients, created the city.  A plague in the Milky Way forces the race to fly to a galaxy named Pegasus. On their way, they encountered the Wraith, a powerful enemy. The war continues for hundreds of years and Stargate Atlantis shows how the Ancients keep on fighting with the very powerful enemy while searching for the means to destroy him.
