Created by Chris Carter, The X Files is a part of The X Files franchise. It’s a very popular American cult science fiction series. The series opener hit the TV screens on September 10, 1993 and it ran for nine successful seasons. The last episode of The X-Files was aired on May 19, 2002. All seasons of the show were aired on Fox Network.

The leading characters of the series were two FBI special agents namely Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. They worked as a team to solve innumerous unsolved cases labeled as X-Files.  Both had different viewpoints when it came to the explanation of the mysterious events. As per Mulder’s viewpoint, most of the cases could be explained with help of paranormal phenomenon whereas Scully always liked to give a scientific and logical explanation.  Their biggest enemy was a group of men known as ‘The Syndicate’ and their leader Cigarette Smoking Man. Another important part of storyline was Mulder’s sister who, as per Mulder’s belief, was abducted by aliens. It later came to light that she was actually kidnapped by people to use her for experiments. The storyline went on following the two agents dealing with never-anticipated events.
