Ichigo is on another hollow fighting mission.  Rukia receives a message on her pager that there is a hollow. She makes Ichigo aware about it and both reach the place where the hollow is supposed to be. After going there, they come to know that the hollow has been already defeated. A man who calls himself Quincy encounters Ichigo. In order to find out what may a Quincy mean, Rukia rushes to the shop of Urahara. While there, she comes to know that Quincy are humans with spiritual powers who kill hollows. Quincy and Shinigami deal with hollows in different manners. Quincy kill hollows whereas Shinigami send them to the soul society. As per Uryū Ishida, the Quincy, he dislikes all Soul Reapers. He asks Ichigo to a hollow hunting competition.
